As the cold weather in the Pacific Northwest settles in and the temperature drops below 40˚F, SeQuential recommends that you blend your B99 BIODIESEL with diesel #2.
Many people like to blend fuel themselves: after your vehicle is warm, fill your tank half-way with diesel #2 and then fill up the other 50% with B99 BIODIESEL, creating B50 BLEND in your tank. When blending like this in your tank, it is best to dispense BIODIESEL on top of the diesel #2, due to weight differences. It is optimal to blend fuel in the tank after the vehicle has had a chance to warm up.
By blending 50% BIODIESEL with 50% diesel #2, you will lower the CFPP to approximately 20 degrees Fahrenheit. For colder temperatures, use higher ratios of diesel #2, such as B20 BLEND (20% BIODIESEL + 80% diesel #2).
For convenience, some of our pumps offer B20 BLEND. To view all pump locations and blends available, visit our locations page.
To achieve an even lower CFPP you can add any conventional diesel anti-gel additive that will work on the petrol-diesel part of the fuel blend. At this time, SeQuential can not recommend any anti-gel additives for B99 BIODIESEL.
