IdleAire Technologies Posts $13.9 Million 2Q Loss

IdleAire Technologies Corp., a company that provides in-cab idle reduction technology for truck drivers, reported last Wednesday a loss of $13.9 million in the second quarter, compared with a loss of $6.9 million in 2005.
Revenue increased to $2.6 million, up 72% from $1.5 million in last year’s second quarter.
The company attributed the losses to a net interest expense of $4.4 million associated with the discount note debt offset by capitalized interest, $1.2 million in costs associated with newly installed sites, a $1.3 million impairment charge associated with four non-core sites and about $1 million in charges related to three site closures July.
As of June 30 the company said it has completed installed its Advanced Truckstop Electrification systems in about 2,300 parking spaces operating in 37 locations across 15 states.
Last year, IdleAire announced plans to install the ATE systems in more than 13,000 parking spaces in about 210 locations in up to 35 states
