Having a tuff time putting loads together or getting the right rate per mile? We build loads for several independent hotshot owner operators nationwide. We have independent hotshot owner operators that are averaging $16,000.00 to $24,000.00 a month consistanlty working with us. We've been moving LTL freight for 23 years on full size semi's pulling stepdecks and flatbeds. This last year we've said so long to the big trucks and went 100% hotshot. The only regret we have is we didn't make the switch 10 years earlier. Since we started running hotshots we've taken new hotshot Owner Operators with little or no trucking experiance and have them earning more money than most veteran owner operators with big trucks. M&H Logistics is owned and operated by experianced owner operators that know what it takes to make it in the trucking industry. We only work with independent owner operators because we strongly beleive leasing a truck to any carrier is bad idea. Owner operators need there freedom to move on if they're not earning a fair living where there at. We've seen to many freinds over the years get trapped into leases and lose everything. You just can't survive in this business giving 30% or more of your income away to a carrier that won't even look for you a backhaul. Go Independent or don't go Trucking! If you need help or have any questions about hotshoting give us a call. 760-868-4932 http://www.flatbedcarrier.com

Hey Guys, just want to let everyone know as of Febraury 1st 2007 we'll no longer be load finding part time for owner operators. Just full time from here on out. It's taking to much time away from the owner operators that depend on us for every piece of freight they haul. We have several things we're working on for this summer and we want to make sure we stay on course. We've added more phone lines and we're gearing up for the busy season. We will also be better prepared to help more owner operators.

We've had several request from owner operator for us to handle there load booking/faxing. We know first hand how tuff it is booking a piece of freight from the road so we've decided to start handling it for them. However we will not handle the billing, that'll still be your job. Anyways we're working on getting this set up by February 1st. If you have any questions give us a call.

Thanks Gary M&H Logistics 760-868-6295

Just so Gary doesn't have to blow his own horm, I'll do it for him. Whenever I need a load, he has been able to come up with something. He's a pretty good guy to work with if you can keep him out of the fish pound.

If anyone can help, he can, besides that, he's more than just a load finder. His talents are unlimited in this biz.

Hey Gary,
I've been looking at this business for near 4 years now. been driving class b for over 10 years concrete trucks and wanted to get away from it, plus I saw the work start to dwindle away. Got the spark one day when I was returning after a load and I stopped for a coffee at a mini truck stop. there was a two car wedge that had pulled in just ahead of me, and I said that's it, that's what I'm gonna do. I ran otr for 3+ years prior to mixers and 2 was as a co-driver for an o/o with reliable carriers in phoenix. I did a few runs for the office there with there 3 car featherlite set up. It was a pretty nice ford crew cab dually and other than the cramped sleeping deal I thought it was kinda slick. So I started looking into it. First the 4 car wedges than I started thinking trailer hauler package (was looking at take3) then wound up thinking 53' step deck with trailer package figure there's not to many loads you'll have to pass up with that combo. F6 or 750 crew cab for tow unit. I was able to swing the finance for all new and enough over cost to pay the operation until the loads compensations started to come in. The only thing that was holding me back was the load brokerage. I knew that if I got into this with a snake broker I would never make it. I looked every night for info. on brokers for this line of transport but didn't see anything that between the lines didn't say "yer gonna die" then I stumbled across this forum and started reading your posts. and all the helpful information you provided to all who asked for it. I know there a lot of hotshots that broker there own loads but that's really not for me. keeping a truck loaded with no empty space for any great length of time is like a science takes focus and skill. My skills are driving and when I run out of hours there's other things to do like tend the rig, eat and recharge my hours
Unfortunately my work got so slow that when I went to secure the finances they told me that my income was so low for that past several months that I was considered part time and that they couldn't do it. Now at this point I'm laid off so it's a project in time. Well to head this novel to a close I have a question for you. I know you deal with the western region of the states for the most part, but would you have any trouble taking on an o/o from the eastern seaboard when the sun shines on me again?
I know it would be hard for me to get home if your not running freight to the east coast but home time is not an issue for me, and I know that if I want home time I could find a load there and then back. It seems that your growing so maybe by the time my turn comes you will have expanded further east. My first year otr I was home for two visits 1 1/2 days each so I'm a runner. I know that things are bad all over these days but I think this med duty transport is going to grow from the high price of fuel. It used to be that the big dogs would take some of this freight over dead heading to the next full load to cover fuel but I don't think it pays to do it anymore. better off to just wait for a full load and relax a bit. let me know what ya think. and thanks again for all the great input.   Claude.

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner Claude, I stay very busy loading trucks out west here. Barely have time to visit these other forums anymore while running my own. Still no immediate plans to expand to the East Coast anytime soon. If you have questions your probably better off emailing me at freightbroker@verizon.net or calling me at 760-868-4932
