Just replaced my tires on the Duramax, I have been running Firestone Transforce A/T 's , I have gotten 80k out of both sets. Before I got the A/T the dealer recommended H/T's and they did not work at all, wore the tread off the rear duals in 3 weeks, they replaced them with the A/T at no charge. This last set I think I rotated them only twice. Might get 90k+ if a Guy was rotating real regular (6-8k), I don't have the time for that though.
These tires have been real good in rain/sand/mud/snow/ice. My cost was $920 for the last set of six. They have the same weight ratings as the Michelin LTX's , just under 10k for the set of rear duals. Never had any flats on either set. Very good tire for the money in my opinion.

I had a set of the Michlein LTX M/S that I ran 110K and could have gotten another 10K on them but winter was coming on so I wanted more tread. I rotated them about every 10-15K and balanced them.
The Yokohamas I replaced them with were about $40 a tire cheaper but I am not going to get near the mileage from them. It will be Michelin's again the next time.

Keep them balanced and rotated. If you can have them force balanced do so. It will help keep down the amount of wt needed to balance them.

I am glad to hear that. I am getting close to new tires again. I got 110K on a set of Michelins and tried a set of Yokohama's and they are not doing as well as I hoped. So far 33K but I doubt that I will get 40K out of them.

IMHO....
I am NOT a Wal-mart fan for several reason, one.. I work in parts and service at a Gm dealership... BUT>>>
if you buy thier tires with the free rotate and balance, it more than pays for it's self.
retired RV hauler told me he got over 100K on every set of LTX's he bought from Wal-mart. There is one in everytown, but getting your exact tire if you have a problem is not easy. He had 415K on his 2003 GMC when he sold it.
I personal bought Bridgestone Revo's LT235/85R16E, I love em. No road noise and plenty of grip if even little traction is questioned.

I was looking at the Yokohama's too 'cause I did not want to fork over the $1200 for the LTX's and kept reading very mixed reviews @ tirerack.com about them. Wonder if they are mfg-ed differently at various plants because there never really seemed to be any grey area in opinions. Same sort of mixed bag of reviews for the Toyo Open Country HT's... seemed half had issues with them around 35-40k, the other half would get 80-100k.

Hey Brad look at those Firestone Transforce AT, I ran 2 set with no problems. They should run 1000-900 in price for 6.
