America WakeupSend this to all those you know that think a democratic controlled govt or president is good for the country.
This email comes in three parts:
Part 1
In just one year . Remember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 ½ year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since voting in a Democratically controlled Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
America voted for 'change' in 2006, and we got it!
Remember it's Congress that makes the law, not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.
Quote of the Day........'My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.' -- Barack Obama
Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html
Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250
Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates
It is amazing how many people who fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people who fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.
PART 3:
You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much?
Read this:
Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it
is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us.
I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.
I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again
until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I
have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

Are we Voters that stupid?
If this doesn't bother you then just delete the message. If, on the other
hand, if it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you
forward it to every legal resident in the country including every representative in
Washington, D.C. - five times a week for as long as it takes to restore
some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof....

I read this about a week back and it was part three that really bugs me.
I don't think our doors need to completely shut to people wanting to better their lives, but I do think their home country(predominantly Mexico) should bear a lot more of the financial draws and improve THEIR country by adding an infrastructure as they completely have the means. I believe that is the only solution to the illegal alien issue.
|
Tom Cobb
|
We have got to completely close off the borders so that we can control who comes in and allow only those who go thru the process to come in.
The drugs and that are coming in is almost unbelievable quantities.
It really pisses me off to hear the liberals run their mouth about how much illegals contribute to our society and the mexican led social groups that are people who live here and want to let them come in. Then there are many mexicans who want the flow stopped.
We have to control what happens in our country. If not we are going to be the minority and eventually gone. Europe has a population increase....all muslims. Europe is being conquered with out a shot being fired. The white european population is decreasing because of a decrease in child birth.
Meanwhile mexicans are using the some plan except they add childbirth increases to the mix. Many mexicans will tell you that they are going to retake CA, AZ, TX, and NM. They have always been told to have as many kids as they can.
Their plan is working and ours cannot be implemented because of liberals. This is the one thing that Bush has done that I really disagreed with and cannot understand why he has catered to Mexico.

Well, one thing is for sure, no one knows what party will be in office in 2012. And CBS News said tonight that by the year 2012 we can expect to be paying $225.00 a gal. for a barrel of oil and $10.00 at the pump for gas.
Wonder who will be in charge then, me I'll be dead.....probably helping to regenerate that oil.
Oh Well!

I wish I knew the ideals that created NAFTA as well as what Bush was/is thinking with opening borders (more or less). There has to be much information they have that is not public as nothing they say or present on the issue makes any sense what so ever. Maybe I am too simple minded.
|
Tom Cobb

Contrary to what the democrats/liberals make out of NAFTA economists say it has helped the US economy and has created more jobs in the US than was lost. The demand for US goods has fueled the demand. There are several studies that show this to be true.
If what CBS says is true then none of us will have jobs and we will be in economic ruin unless wages go up to match that. Us retired people will not be able to buy gas at all. The price of fuel has ruined my budget for fuel and the price increase of food, etc. is being felt.
I need to go to work to offset this and many others will have to do the same before it is over. Something has to give somewhere.
If the democrats get in office our taxes will go up and put us all into trouble. They have no fix for fuel prices and neither does Bush. The only fix is more oil from our country and the surrounding off shore lands. We are sponsoring the terrorist with our money going to the Arabs. Drilling and more ethanol from something besides corn.
I saw on the news that an ethanol plant is being built in PA the uses stuff other than corn for feedstock. It is being backed by GM. Where the hell is the oil companies in this and also all the other major companies that have the money to get this done?
|
LBZ
|
With the amount of Anhydrous it takes to grow a successful crop of corn we will be gaining in two sectors if that deal in PA works out. One you take out a Natural Gas product as well as the acres I imagine they are using or switching over are not high production corn areas anyway, so nothing is really taken out of the food chain. I know they have been talking about raising switchgrass in other areas as well that are not heavily impacting the food chain.
However if they rock this boat too much, too fast alot of farmers will be left out in the cold as fertilizer (N,P & K)has doubled in the last 4 years to unprecedented levels, along with seed technologies. Going to be interesting watching these markets and down right punishing when we make mistakes, for both farmers and the transport industry.

I read somewhere that one of the founding fathers (I don't recall which one) said that if we elect lawyers to represent us that we will be legislated into disaster.
I have believed this for a while. I did not know however that the democratic party was that dominated by lawyers. I guess I should have realized it based on the past record.

Short essay is illuminating and explains much!
The Lawyers' Party
By Bruce Walker
The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers' Party. Barack Obama and
Hillary Clinton are lawyers. Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are
lawyers. John Edwards, the other former Democrat candidate for
president, is a lawyer and so is his wife Elizabeth. Every Democrat
nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not
graduate.) Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976,
except for Lloyd Benson, went to law school. Look at the Democrat
Party in Congress: the Majority Leader in each house is a lawyer.
The Republican Party is different. President Bush and Vice President
Cheney were not lawyers, but businessmen. The leaders of the
Republican Revolution were not lawyers. Newt Gingrich was a history
professor; Tom Delay was an exterminator; and Dick Armey was an
economist. House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer,
not a lawyer. The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart
surgeon.
Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford,
who left office thirty-one years ago and who barely won the Republican
nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in
1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work.
The Democratic Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn
men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick like
Frist, or who immerse themselves in history like Gingrich.
The Lawyers' Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and
services that people want, as the enemies of America. And so we have
seen the procession of official enemies in the eyes of the Lawyers'
Party grow. Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical
companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food
restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers and anyone
producing anything of value in our nation.
This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes
of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their
clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new
laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to
overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their
side.
Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an
awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin
to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing
parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all
consuming. Some Americans become "adverse parties" of our very
government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class action
suit. We are citizens of a republic which pro mises us a great deal of
freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.
Today, we are drowning in laws, we are contorted by judicial
decisions, we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all
parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and
lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and
unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is
whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the
law in America is too big. When lawyers use criminal prosecution as a
continuation of politics by other means, as happened in the lynching
of Scooter Libby and Tom Delay, then the power of lawyers in America
is too great. When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring
our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then
the role of litigation in America has become crushing.
We cannot expect the Lawyers' Party to provide real change, real
reform or real hope in America. Most Americans know that a republic
in which every major government action must be blessed by nine
unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most
Americans grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at
the heels of our defenders. Most Americans would agree that more lawyers
and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit
of enterprise in our economy.
Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our
nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society
and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from
the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work.
Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more
power will only make more problems.

You are right. The new feedstock that is being pushed is wood and other fiborous items. Switchgrass is one that is being touted and if I recall correctly there is a plant in south TX that uses or will use when it comes on line, switchgrass. It is also suppose to be operated by methane gas generated from cow manure from feed lots and dairy farms. There is also another plant in the Amarillo area that will also use manure.
I have read about one in MS that is suppose to self supporting also but I don't recall the source of the power to operate it. I think there is also one in IL or IN that is self supporting.
There is a town in MO that is totally powered by wind generators and enough power left over to power another town of similar size. Stephanville, TX gets a sizeable part of its electrical power from methane gas powered generators using cow manure.
It will take a lot of this kind of inventive ideas and follow thru to get us out of this mess. It will take funding from companies that are willing to contribute profits and expertise to solve the problems.
Maybe some of us need to come up with ideas and start a company or organzation to push for this kind of thing or manufacture or install systems to get us there.

Who is Bruce Wailker, and why is he not running for President???????????
TC, that essay is one of the best things I have ever read. In a nut shell that is what is wrong with our Gov't. The worst thing is that most of the people in this country are too ignorant to understand it. Too many of us have become so dependent on the Lawyers Party's big brother Gov't, that the only change we will see is bad change. Solutions that make bigger problems.
The Lawyers Party will nominate either Obama or Clinton, both of them are TOTALLY UNQUALIFIED to be even a BAD President.
McCain is at least qualified to be a BAD President.
Watch closely what happens with the Congressional races this Fall, most people are predicting big wins for the Lawyers Party. This will be our undoing as a nation. All the gains of the past 30 years are going down the tube.
I think things must get a lot more painful for many more Americans, before things can get better. It seems we must feel a lot more pain before the country will wake up.
Personally I think too many Americans distrust the Republican Party, for them to be effective anymore. McCain might win but I expect him to be a poor President. He is not a Lawyer, but he thinks like one. He does have the ability to be a good President though, the other two are going to be bad jokes played on the country.
The Lawyers Party is a total lost cause, the Republican Party is headed for permanent minority Party status for many years to come I fear. The Country might need a new Third party to fix this mess. Wether the Republican Party can retool itself or they are abandonned for a Third Party, it won't happen overnight. The country will continue to decline, it could take decades for us to bottom out though.
Watch what happens with Congress this year, thats what is important. McCain should win hands down, but big losses in Congress will give the Lawyers the real power, thats what they really want. Dominating control of Congress, that insulates them from the Personality Contest every 4 years.

You won't get no disagreement from me. Nov election time is going to be a real tough time for people who are really concerned about this nation. The liberals are only concerned about themselves and their political career. They want to take from any of use in the middle income brackets and give it to everybody else. The liberals won't take it from the rich because they would be taking it from themselves and their friends. That leaves us middle guys.
Bill Clinton had the audacity to say in one of his Hillary speeches that she would give the middle income folks a tax break for the first time. That is pure BS. My income taxes are lower than I can remember in many years because of Bush...not Clinton.
I better shutup while the shutting is good.
