Security Program and I Hope you will read

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
incomes into the Program,
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent "Trust Fund" rather than into the
General operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees
would never be taxed as income.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to "put
away" -- you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the

General fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social
Security annuities????
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the
"tie-breaking" deciding vote, as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the USA.
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving
annuity payments to immigrants?
This is MY FAVORITE:
A: That's right! Jimmy Carter! And the Democratic Party of
course!
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!
Then, after doing all this lying and thieving and violating
of the original contract (FICA), the Democrats
turn around and tell you that the Republicans
want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed
citizens believe it!

Personally I would give up my future SS if they would let the young people out of this terrible mistake. SS has become a transfer of wealth for the wealthiest Americans the old, from the least wealthiest the young. I am 46, I would like to see those over 55 taken care of (that age could be debated), but the rest of us should suck in our guts and deal with this finnacial travisty. Hey the politicians stole from us, but stupid Americans willingly sent them to Washington to steal from them. Oh I would also confiscate that special retirement fund for the federal office holders (they exempted themselves from SS), to apply a bandaid to this problem. You think its bad now waite until the most selfish generation (baby boomers) retires, they will break the bank. Between them and the Illegals this is a nightmare that is comming. Bush had a good plan, a lot less radical than mine, but NOBODY listened to him. All I see is a bunch of people sticking their heads in the sand, and hoping they get their SS before it goes broke. It is going to go broke the Politicians made sure of that. So I say we should take our medicine and quit stealing from the young, that makes us no better than those skunks in Washinton.

Tell it like it is Brian. I am 66 and have wished many a time that I could have had a refund of my SS so I could invest it and do away with SS.

This program is a classic example of the Gov't sucking money out of the private sector, and making it harder for us to compete in the world economy. They took a small insignificant amount of money at first, and grew the program into a very large drain on the US economy. To make matters worst they then steal the money out of the trust fund, and cause a even larger drain on our Economic health. SS is a classic example why you won't like Gov't controled health care, they will screw it up.
We all want the Gov't to fix things, but it seems that when they get involved it just causes bigger problems down the road, for our kids who don't have a say yet. Many states have license fee's for recreational activities, tolls, fuel taxes, and lottery money for the schools. I really question if we get a very good return on our dollars for these services. Is the money diverted to other projects with more political clout, and lining the pockets of special doaners?
Example we spend a lot of money on school lunches, but the quality of the food is crap. Yet Gov't do gooders preach nutrition, but they feed kids a lot of garbage food. I bet the businesses that supply the food make good money, on these programs.
We are already taxed through the nose on fuel and tolls, but they need even more money, to fix the roads and bridges. States like IN take and sell a section of US Interstate Highway to a private company. To gain a shorterm bounce in the public coffers. I90/80 must have been built at least partially with federal funds, what gives them the right to do this?
We as individuals constantly must do with less, why do Gov'ts get a blank check. We are digging our kids economic grave.

Very true Brian. I stand my old rants. Every congressman or woman should be voted out of office. Replace them with NON-LAWYERS and JUDGES.
One of our forefathers said that if we vote lawyers and judges into office they will ruin the country. They have legislated us to destruction. They are greedy, power hungry, selfish and bent on turning this nation into a socialist country. The DEMOCRATS lead the pack with their giveaway legislation and programs.

I was just going through some of the older posts, and this one really burns me up, each time I read it. I had a general idea that this is what happened, but most of this happened before I could vote. Imagine how these young kids will feel about this when this system actually collapses. Taxes are ok to a certain point, it is just that every where I turn some portion of the Gov't has their hands in my pocket.
But this whole SS thing is a classic example of how things get messed up, and 90% of the people have no idea how it happened.
Voting every incumbent out might be the only way to get their attention.

America was founded because of unfair taxation and religious freedom not freedom from but that the govt could not establish religion. Not the perversion that has taken place by the ACLU and liberal judges.
We need a tax revolt. This includes the fees that the govt charges which is just another name for taxes for the use of what we have already paid for.
ALL citizens have to get involved to put a stop to this and it has to come from the citizens not the politicians.
