Trans 48

So I stopped by the chrome shop to check out an aux. fuel tank. I believe someone got confused about what I wanted?! Laughing

Even though the two of these tanks look huge, they were less than 10k. The only concern I had with them was that you could only use chains on the bottom.

How much did it cost to fill those tanks? How far can you go on that load of fuel? Rolling Eyes  Laughing

When I got the call and they mentioned fuel tanks, I asked if they came with enough to get where I was going? The broker didn't understand my sense of humor. Oddly according to the broker those tanks combined are 30' long and my trailer is 40'. Hmmm. Confused So no sense of humor and very bad at math?
pantera427

So now where will you haul your frieght?
Shocked

How big is the clove box on that thing?
Wink

It seems that brokers and shippers never can get the math right on size....or they intentionally don't get it right.

I agree pantera...where is the cargo deck?? Hmm!!! Sad

Wouldn't you know something like that would bring out all the smartasses!!! Razz

Nice looking load Brad, how has the load finding been going for you? Have you been happy with the rates and have you been able to stay loaded?

Load finding is a competetive sport I am learning and the rates are good on what I have found & loaded. Finding things to make a loop with or going a simultaneous direction is still complicated with being relatively new. Hoping that part gets a bit easier as time goes on.

I am digging this though, I did the long haul stuff last year and the time behind the wheel drove me nuts, but the 500-600 mile stuff keeps things interesting for me. Would love to find some regular stuff keeping that sort of radius.

The last load delivered in Nashville, TN on Friday afternoon with the Loadmaster trailer. Two Phaeton's from a dealership in St. Louis whose sales staff needs to have their heads surgically removed from their ... Embarassed  Wink  Cool

I asked for a signature on the inspection reports and had to go to four different people and the last person yelled that I need not bother him with it & to go elsewhere. I was ready to crack him upside his big inflated head with my clip board. There was another guy in that same room who finally signed for things. Man those guys just tried to make everything difficult.

These cars are heavy too, the curb weight listed on each was @ 5194 lb Shocked

I have had a runin with jerks like that. Namely a horse trailer dealer in Maryland. I was told not to come back. I think he had told every driver the same thing a some time or other. Pure a**hole.

It makes you realize the fake smile you see when you are at a dealership as a customer versus being there & not going to buy from them. If these guys act like they did to me toward their customer base, they will all be sleeping in refrigerator box on a good night very soon! Wink

amazing how some people treat others. One of the bad things about cars is the inspections that you must do, and its on you if you miss something.

On the other hand I have had dealers who will sign off with out even looking at the car.

Watch the doctor signatures on all BOL, I have started to ask for printed names also.

Brian
Phil

Getting a printed name is an absolute MUST!!!!!! If you ever have a claim that is not substantiated you need to know who recieved the car in the claimed condition. Get a printed name under or next to the signature on the BOL, then make sure when they sign the inspection report, the signatures match or have them print their name on that also.

More notes on recievers, A LOT of them are requesting carriers to utilize "Night Drops". If you are new to hauling cars listen up. This is very convenient when you get into town at 2:00 in the morning and your next drop is 4 hours away.... BUT DO NOT DROP A CAR UNLESS AN AUTHORIZED PERSON SIGNS FOR AND INSPECTS THE VEHICLE!!! That is just a claim waiting to happen. If somebody bumps that car after you leave, guess what, its on you!
