Unleaded at Love's not $4;Unleaded at Love's not $4; prices competitive with other travel stops
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A photograph on the front of the August 1-14, 2006
issue of The Trucker resulted in some customers of Love's Travel Stops and
Country Stores being confused about the actual price of fuel at the company
s stores.
The photograph was intended to direct attention to an inside story about
what might happen if the price of oil climbed to $100 a barrel, and referred
readers to the inside story. The prices on the original photo of the sign
were changed digitally by the production department as part of the attempt
to catch readers' attention and to make the point that with the way prices
are going, diesel prices could possibly go that high. Question marks were
added to further convey the possibility.
Prices at Love's stores are in line with other travel stops and local
service stations.
The actual prices on August 2 at North Little Rock where the original photo
was taken were $2.679 for unleaded and $2.889 for diesel.
The Trucker regrets any confusion.
