I questioned ebay motors on how to get into hauling autos out of their site.I know you can not advertise service on their motors forum. This is the reply I got if anyone is interested. This will also be posted in your Auto Haul Page. Rose

I HAVE ADVERTIZED ON E-BAY just don't let the winning bidder win the bid with a .01 per mile load. I explained my situation and added my phone number and explianed do not bid or buy until verbal terms are met. I also explained if they did place a bid it was for a return phone call. And for ebays auction I add a buy it now price for 1.00 which made the ebay listing legit. It still costed the same price as listing a auto but I got my advetisment and recived numrous hits. And for the little guy like me all transactions were placed on ebay for their protection as well as mine, since it is a legal binding contract. Hope this helps.

I run a few ads on ebay every once in awhile. There is a down side to it. 90% of the sellers make scheduling a pickup a nightmare, as soon as they've been paid they loose interest. You may have to run a auction for 2 or 3 months before you even get something to haul. Thats why you don't see very may big transporters advertising on there. I think DAS is the only big company on there doing it, and I bet there paying big bucks to advertise on ebay the way there doing it. Another downside is if your a hotshot that can only load 2 vehicles you'll find you can't compete with the big companies because there moving as many as 10 vehicles per load and they can drop there rate to 45 & 35 cents per mile per vehicle when it gets competitive and still make a fair living. You figure a full load for them going 2500 miles at 35 cpm per vehicle pays $8750.00 and if your lucky enough to be able to get 2 cars on your gooseneck meeting there rate per mile you'll get anywhere from 90 to 70cpm per mile. 2500 mile run and your doing it for as little as $1750.00 isn't profitable. You may get lucky once in awhile and the person that calls you to haul there car hasn't checked prices. Even if you do and they pay you 65 cents per mile, lining another vehicle up or even a piece of freight going the same direction can be difficult. I'm sticking to freight and soliciting businesses that move lite weight freight. There's so many things in this business that can side track us. I've bounced alot of them around in my head and I allways come back to hauling freight. Good Luck.
