[b]Hi guys my name is Phil and I am just starting in the Hot Shot line of work. I am very excited, my truck is coming down from Salt Lake City right now and my trailer from hefty is being built. I am aroung 3-4 weeks away from being on the road. I am really looking forward to working for myself.
Hi Phil,It's been pretty slow on this website lately.

It appears you have the equipment but how about all the legal stuff? Things like DOT and MC#, trucking insurance, etc.?
Where are you going to get the loads? What is your plan for the business? Hope you are not one of the many who put the truck before the planning and authority, etc.

I got my truck friday, great truck, good deal. I will be hauling loads for Gary with MH logistics. The operating authority and insurance are in the works, and has NOT been easy, but im pluggin along getting everything ready. Spent 4 1/2 hours at MVD yesterday and the say it will take two weeks for the paper work to go through. Insurance will be ready today!
Good deal, your welcome. You should have a tarp also. Atleast something to cover up some partials. Tarps can be expencive so you'll really want to hunt around. Maybe you can find a used one somewhere. If you can't find a decent deal you should atleast carry some cheapie tarps for now. You just don't want to pass up a good paying partial because it needs to be tarped. I was talking to TGPILOT last night and he was saying he found a place in Texas where he can get a brand new one 27' x 24' with a flap for $375.00. I'll ask him where he's getting it today and get back to you once I find out. Once in awhile I see some on ebay for sale also. You may want to take a look.
